BOGNAR, Louis –80, of Franklin Lakes passed away on September 16, 2016.
Born in South Amboy, New Jersey, he grew up in Somerset moving to Franklin Lakes 43 years ago. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indiana Institute of Technology and his Master’s Degree in math from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Prior to his retirement he was an electrical engineer for the Bendix Corp. in Teterboro, and had previously worked for Pan Am as an engineer. Louis was a true dog lover but most of all he loved being a pilot and taught physics at Aviation High School in Queens. He was a lifetime member of the Aircraft Owner and Pilot’s Association.
Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Pelak) of Franklin Lakes.
Devoted father of Jeffrey Bognar and his wife Danielle of Nutley.
Dear brother of the late Eugene Bognar.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday from 2-5 PM and on Monday from 5-8 PM at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
Funeral Services Tuesday 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Franklin Lakes.
Interment Christ The King Cemetery.
