RUITENBERG, John, 87 of Midland Park passed away on February 11, 2017. Born in Prospect Park, John lived in Oakland for 45 years before moving to Florida. He returned to New Jersey in 2012 and settled in Midland Park. John served in the army during the Korean War. John was a mechanic for Ramsey Nissan and retired in 1994. He was a founding member of the Franklin Lakes Christian Reformed Church and currently a member of the Faith Community Christian Reformed Church.
Beloved husband of the late Alice Ruitenberg (nee Dyer). Devoted father of Larry Ruitenberg and his wife Paula of Hawthorne, Jackie Collins and her husband Sean of Midland Park and Donald Ruitenberg and his wife Shirley of Midland Park. Loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Sister of Bella Tanis and the late Ethel Vander Werf, Alco and Henry Ruitenberg.
The family will receive their friends on Thursday February 16th at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road Franklin Lakes from 4-6 PM with a service to follow at 6PM at the funeral home. Private interment to follow at BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, New Jersey 08562
