GUERRIERO, August “Augie” – 84, of Oakland passed away on November 29, 2017. Born in Paterson he was a long-time resident of Oakland. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW in Whippany. Prior to his retirement he was a photoengraver with G&S Lithographers in Carlstadt. August was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff and a former member of the Oakland First Aid Squad. In retirement, he was a crossing guard in Oakland as well as a member of the Oakland Seniors, T.H.E.O. and the Parents Without Partners Club.
Beloved husband of the late Lillian (nee Piccoli) Guerriero (1997).
Devoted father of Donna Flynn and her husband John of Kinnelon, Anthony Guerriero of Oakland and Angelo Guerriero and his wife Themi of Paramus.
Loving grandfather of Kristin, Kevin, Anthony, John, Augustine and Alexander.
Augie’s family will receive family and friends on Friday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00–8:00 pm at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
Funeral Services Saturday 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
