WESTRA, Dorothy “Dot” (nee Jellema) – 93, of Pompton Plains passed away on February 3, 2018. Born in Rock Rapids, Iowa, she lived in Clifton and Franklin Lakes before moving to Pompton Plains 17 years ago. Prior to her retirement in 1964, she was a bookkeeper for Givaudan Corp. in New York. She attended the 1st Reformed Church in Little Falls and was a former member of Bridgeway Christian Reformed Church in Haledon and Summer Street Christian Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School. Dot volunteered in many different ministries in and around the Paterson area and loved sewing, cooking and making Japanese Dolls.
Beloved wife of the late Harry Louis Westra (2016). Devoted mother of Timothy Westra and his wife Christine of Wayne. Loving grandmother of Timothy James, Michaela, Samuel, Andrew, Rachel and Rebecca.
Dear sister of Gladys Tuit of Ringwood and sister-in-law of Don and Judy Westra.
The family will receive family and friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. Memorial Services Friday 11 am at Bridgeway Christian Reformed Church, 381 Haledon Avenue, Haledon, NJ.
Private Interment.
